Caprese makin’ me crazay

Shrimp Scampi Caprese

After a long weekend of dancing in four different shows on campus at SUNY New Paltz, my family visited and took me to Coppola’s on 9 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Walking into the cozy restored house were tributes to Italian specialties and customs, equip with a warm fireplace and rustic antique accents. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi Caprese, in a garlic sauce filled with jumbo shrimp, fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, atop a bed of fettuccine pasta. Their garlic bread was an added bonus.

The menu is pretty extensive, so before arriving I would glance through it: Coppola’s menu.

Mother of All Melts

P & G’s is a “cornerstone” of New Paltz, NY, offering some of the best grub in town. A personal favorite of mine is the “Mack Truck Burger” which features an 8 oz. angus beef burger (cooked medium, preferably), atop with mac and cheese, all inside a grilled cheese. It is to die for! Pair it with their ahmazzzinggg eggplant fries for the ultimate meal.

The rest of their menu can be found on pandgs.com.

Any college student can vouch for me when I say we love a great deal. At just one dollar and ninety-five cents, Main Street Bistro in New Paltz, NY offers a hearty breakfast of two eggs, hashbrowns, and toast—and no, that was not a typo: all for $1.95! Which means you can have the perfect breakfast plus coffee for less than five dollars. Not to mention, they brew the best coffee in town.

They even cater. Check out mainstreetbistro.com.
